Friday's Five Favorites...green cleaning!

In observance of Earth Day we're dedicating this post to green cleaning options:

* vinegar - it's the single best product in your home cleaning arsenal!  Click here for a variety of uses...

* home recipe for cleaning windows - click here for simple instructions from Care 2.  Use microfiber clothes to clean your windows then toss them in the washer for reuse.

* method laundry detergent - this is pretty powerful stuff!  The formula is super concentrated but the packaging for it is even better.  Just a few quick pumps is all you  need for a full load.  Gone are the days of lugging around a giant plastic bottle (this is perfect for city folk who don't have their own washer/dryer).

* eco carpet refresher - forget the store bought, chemical laden variety...sprinkle baking soda (we choose Bob's Red Mill Aluminum Free version) over your carpets, let sit for a few minutes then vacuum.  Feel free to add 2 or 3 drops of essential oil to your baking soda but mix well and don't make the powder soggy.
