fall makeup trends and tips...

Today on INsight the ladies and I discussed the trends for makeup and hair this season. Check out the clips below!
Fall Make Up Trends - I love Charity's quote about painting the barn...hilarious! I'd love to say I leave the house looking super glam everyday but that just isn't the case. When I don't put on my face (as my grandmother says) I opt for a luminizing moisturizer for a subtle glow...but I NEVER leave without sunglasses...NEVER!
Eye & Hair Trends - I love a chignon but always need help doing it myself...Click here to buy or here for detailed usage. Check out the complete range from Butter London...one of my very favorite beauty brands EVER! Click here for the mascara I presented on air by CoverGirl but for my navy colored mascara pick of the season click here.
Lip & Cheek Trends - I am so into a red lip this fall (and nearly every fall) but Tarte's Natural Lip Tint is my new favorite. Stila Convertible Color compacts are must haves for me...I adore all the colors for both lips and cheeks (and in some cases eyes).

I adore BIG accessories! Giant cocktail rings are among my favorites, the more obnoxious, the better. Tre, Alexis Bittar and J Crew make some pretty kick ass rings in various sizes and prices. I have quite a collection:
Oversized rings are kind of like a stylish version of brass knuckles. Did someone snag the last pair of coveted shoes in your size? Or mistake you for being pregnant? BAM! Knock 'em out while looking fabulous...*
* do NOT resort to physical violence ever...it's not becoming and most people don't look great in orange prison suits. Hopefully those shoes you wanted will give them corns...
** did I just really include a disclaimer about violence in a fashion post? Yes...yes I did.

It's a very exciting day for me as this little blog is now registered with Independent Fashion Bloggers! I'm happy to be a new member of the IFB community and hope to learn so much more about style blogging. Maybe I'll even make it to the conference next year...eeeee!
And, if you haven't been able to tell from my last two posts, I'm now obsessed with Polyvore...I might never get off this computer...

This summer a tweet was sent out by the Indy Film Fest about a limited edition poster created by Indianapolis based People for Urban Progress. I clicked the link to see the poster and bought it instantly. I had just moved to Indiana and was feeling this exact sentiment. I have yet to hang the poster but I really love reading it.
Today, the poster just really spoke to me and I finally checked out the website for People for Urban Progress...UMMM, they kick some serious ass! I am all for their mission and would love to see them grow and to inspire others to do the same. Coming across groups like PUP gives me great hope for a fresh and modern future...
The poster is no longer available (maybe they'll do another run) but they sell other really cool shit on Etsy.
