Anyone that knows me well knows I have always been fascinated by Marie Antoinette.  A tragic and misunderstood figure, doomed to fail, Marie Antoinette had a most delightful fashion sense with a long lasting impact on style. I won't bore you with historical details since others have already blazed that trail leaps and bounds beyond what I could write here.  Book recommendations on the subject are:

Marie Antoinette by Antonia Frasier
&
Queen of Fashion by Caroline Weber

I have a few Marie Antoinette related odds and ends I've collected over the years however my prized possession are eight dinner plates from the Queen's table, no doubt looted during the revolution.  They were purchased at auction by my great grandmother and were given to me while in high school.  I've had the good sense to securely stash them off site all these years...I just don't feel adult enough to house them at Chez Fox.

Behold the loveliness:

I am beyond excited for my upcoming trip to France so that I can finally visit Versailles...

a piece of the pie...

A few years ago I fell in love with Proenza Schouler's PS1 handbag, just like everyone else. While the bag has eluded me (for now, mwahahahaha!) I do own a PS1 clutch that I use constantly. Owning a small piece from a designer brand is a reasonable way to get a piece of the pie and feels special to a girl like me. I don't have a Chanel suit but I do have a lovely pair of Chanel earrings. I don't carry a Birkin bag but I do have an orange (natch!) Hermes Kelly Double Tour bracelet. These treasured touches of luxury can elevate a basic ensemble and I make use of my limited budget by investing in accessories.

I recently acquired a Proenza Schouler wallet...though wallet is not quite accurate as it's more of a pouch. The actual wallet styles include some sort of zipper but if I purchased one I'd have no money to put inside. My non wallet wallet has a fab entry price point for Proenza Schouler fans on a LeSportsac budget.

I adore the colorful print!

{ hand me downs }
My grandfather's favorite color was orange...I must have inherited that love from him. He gave my mother this set ages ago but I hadn't ever seen it. When she pulled these pieces out a few weeks ago and saw my reaction she promptly handed them over. Yesssss...

 Paris! }
Ooh la la...I'm so thrilled to be traveling to Paris this spring. It's basically all I can think about and I've already started brainstorming my packing strategy. My main goal is visiting Versailles...a lifelong dream for this Marie Antoinette fan.

I found these all over Nashville and fell in love. These stylish yet inexpensive bags are easily cleaned and this particular style holds so much yet stays slim in my handbag.

SRSLY }
I love nothing more than laughing and this video series is so perfectly hilarious I can't get enough!!! I'm DESP for their second season to start.

{ crayon rings }
I just couldn't resist these crayon rings...it's the little things that make me smile.
